PostHeaderIcon Becoming Alkaline, One Drop at a Time: A simple and inexpensive way to solve a potentially serious problem.

This is an informative article on not only why you should become alkaline, but here is an inexpensive and very convenient way of staying alkaline while eating out or away from home – simply carry your alkaline drops with you…

My first effort is to make the case for drinking water.- plain water.  Our bodies are made up of between 55 and 75 percent water and since muscle retains more water than fat, the leaner the body, the higher percentage of water.

Water is essential to provide lubrication for joints, regulate body temperature, regulate blood pressure, help blood flow, keeping body systems functioning properly and to keep our skin elastic. Water is also necessary for digestion and the removal of toxins and nearly every cell in our body requires water for proper function.

Inadequate hydration can also cause sluggishness and headaches due to a decreased flow of blood to the brain.  And it keeps the liver and kidneys functioning well.

Most people who don’t drink enough water on a daily basis have a reduced ability to feel thirst.  By the time they feel thirsty the body may already be dehydrated but once you begin drinking enough water daily you will notice feeling thirst more often.

How much is enough?  A good rule of thumb is that the body requires at least six to eight, 8 ounces glasses of water a day.  A good formula to know how much water is needed is to divide your weight in half, and figure that number in ounces.  For example if you weigh 140 pounds then 70 ounces of water would be required daily.

Now to make the case for why you should drink alkaline water.   The human body should have a pH factor 7.364 which is slightly alkaline on a scale of zero to fourteen, with the lesser percentages representing acidic and above that amount being more alkaline.

Unfortunately in today’s world the average American is acidic which causes a whole list of health problems ranging from increased frequency of  illness, slower blood circulation and/or high blood pressure, premature aging, arthritis, diabetes, allergies, fatigue, depression, colon problems, or even cancer.

Acidity is caused from eating processed foods, “quick foods”, eating red meat (particularly char-broiled), all forms of sugar, hard liquor and beer, and even worse are all soft drinks including colas.  You may recall reading that a typical can of soda has an acidic pH level of 2.5 which requires 32 glasses of neutral pH water to balance that one beverage.

On the other hand being alkaline will create better health along with helping your body avoid most of the illnesses and health issues described above because of a stronger immune system.  Becoming alkaline also enables the blood system to bring oxygen to cancer cells which in turn will cause those cells to stop further growth and die (see “The Real Cause of Cancer” on my website at www.healthwantednow.com)..

Other than trying to accomplish the difficult task of eating enough food high in alkalinity, how does one find a way to drink water that has a higher alkaline factor?  There are three ways, the first of which is to buy a water ionizing machine that converts tap water to alkaline water at your kitchen sink, These machines can be pretty expensive with prices ranging for a good one from $1100 to nearly $4000.

One can also buy alkaline water in plastic bottles at health food stores although these too can get a little pricey at $1.50 to $2.00 per bottle.

The third and best solution for many people is to buy alkaline water drops which come in one or two ounce plastic bottles and depending on the brand, will take ordinary tap water and bring it to an alkaline level of 9.5 with 6-8 drops.

Ordinary tap water is not filtered which means that you will still be drinking chlorine, arsenic, lead, fluoride, and other possible contaminants found in municipal water systems.  Nevertheless by using the drops you will be drinking alkaline water with all of it’s health benefits and with that in mind, you should also consider using either distilled water or filtered water,

Distilled water and a small number of water filters will remove bacteria, pollutants, and unhealthy chemicals along with the trace minerals.  According to the Academy of Natural Healing, drinking distilled water can flush away mineral deposit accumulated in joints, helping prevent arthritis and conditions such as gallstones.

Reverse Osmosis machines are best for removing fluoride although they will also remove the healthy minerals too, leaving you with the chlorine in flat water which comes from a machine costing $8 -10,000, while filtering the water very slowly and wasting up to three gallons to produce one.

The bottom line to all of this is that besides the issues of better health, the  benefits of using alkaline water drops are the convenience for use in a restaurant or at home, while travelling or on vacation,, plus they are easy to carry and easy to use.  At home you can easily make and store alkaline water in larger containers such as one or five gallon bottles.

No one likes to be ill or to show the signs of aging, and no one likes arthritis or gout, and certainly no one likes even the thought of having cancer.  To help avoid all of these it remains critical to avoid being acidic  and to  remain alkaline.  And I can think of no more convenient or inexpensive way of accomplishing all of these and more,  than keeping a bottle of alkaline water drops in your pocket or purse.
